STS High School 14–18 years of age

STS scholarship

The deadline for applying for our scholarship has passed.

We open the doors for all young people to travel and study!

We at STS are now introducing one annual scholarship for a high school exchange in the US for 10 month. All young people between 14 and 17 years of age are welcome to apply. The STS scholarship exists to give more people the chance to go abroad and study, regardless of their financial situation. We will therefore provide this scholarship to those who would otherwise not have had the opportunity to go due to financial circumstances.

To apply for our scholarships, you must:

  • Be 14-17 years old
  • Have the approval of your guardian(s) to go
  • Be able to show approved grades
  • Have a valid passport before departure
  • Living in Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, the Netherlands, Italy, Poland, or New Zealand.

The deadline for applying for our scholarship has passed.

In this form we ask you to:

  • Describe yourself: who you are and what are your interests
  • Tell us why you want to go abroad
  • Attach a copy of your latest grade report
  • Attach photos of yourself and your family (optional)
  • Provide your contact details (telephone, postal address and home country)
  • Tell us why exactly you are seeking this scholarship
  • Describe your family's financial situation

The application period is from March 1 to October 31 for the upcoming school year 2025/2026. After the application period, we select a student to receive our scholarship and notify the recipient by email and/or phone by November 30. Please note that you don't need to book an interview before we decide who will receive our scholarship. We also do not process incomplete scholarship applications.

How it works:

After you have applied, our process of selecting one candidate for our scholarship starts. If you are selected, we will schedule an interview (no interview is necessary until it is clear who will receive our scholarship). Then the general process of applying for a high school exchange follows. Please note that we only accept applications if you live in Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, the Netherlands, New Zealand or Poland.

More about the STS scholarship

STS scholorship covers for a high school Classic exchange in The US for 10 month. We covers the cost for travel, accommodation, education, and some food. Additional costs will be added for you as a student, such as pocket money, costs for insurance, possible cost for specialized food, visas, hobbies, etc. To go on a high school exchange, you must adhere to an application process (including, among other things, a compulsory interview, writing a personal letter, medical examinations and obtaining a certificate from your school headmaster) and meet the acceptance criteria of STS and the host country. A scholarship cannot be paid in cash or through services other than those for which it is intended. Should the recipient of our scholarship be unable to travel due to incomplete application documents or other reasons, the scholarship will not be paid in cash or through other services.

Part of STS sustainability work

Our sustainability work is based on Agenda 2030. As education is part of our core business, the focus area of Good Education for All is one of the goals that we are particularly dedicated to. STS has therefore established this scholarship to give more young people the chance to go abroad to study, increase their self-confidence and build a network for the future, regardless of their financial circumstances.
