Become a host family

Enrichen your everyday life by becoming a host parent or host family to an international high school student! At the same time, you and your family can improve your language skills and learn about a brand-new culture – without going anywhere! Being a host family is a meaningful experience in which you will get to know a different culture, and your whole family will make a friend for life. Get to know our students and notify us of your interest, and we will tell you more about what it’s like to be a host family!

Exchange students come here for 3-10 months and in addition to their native language, most have solid English skills. What they all have in common is that they are here to learn English and to attend New Zealand high school. They are curious about our country, culture and language. Maybe because they have read and heard a lot about us and our country, listened to music from our famous artists, or appreciate our star athletes.

In both fall and spring, new students come to New Zealand from Japan, Germany, Sweden, Italy and more.
