Andrea from Italy was on exchange in the Netherlands.

When I was little, I traveled a lot with my family. When we visited The Netherlands, I felt drawn to this country. I could really see myself living there when I got older, so I decided to go on a high school exchange to The Netherlands.

My host family was amazing! They were so nice and helped me with everything. After only two weeks, I started to feel at home already! I loved spending Christmas with them, celebrating birthdays, going on trips, and having family dinners.

The school was sometimes hard, but the teachers were open to help and didn’t expect me to be at the same level as the other students right away since I had to get used to the Dutch language first.

Making friends at school was easy! People in Brabant are just very welcoming to exchange students.

  • Devo informare la mia scuola in Italia?

    È sempre consigliabile informare i propri professori e il coordinatore della mobilità studentesca per rendere più fluide tutte le pratiche, dalla partenza alla riammissione a settembre.

  • Quale media bisogna avere per partecipare al programma?

    I nostri studenti hanno bisogno di avere una media C, ovvero del 6 negli ultimi tre anni e non aver mai ripetutto l´anno.

  • Ho delle allergie/malattie posso partire lo stesso?

    E´importante per i nostri studenti godere di buona salute. Se hai delle allergie/malattie contattaci e valuteremo assieme il percorso migliore.

  • Posso praticare il mio sport e attività preferite?

    Non possiamo garantire che la tua scuola offra sport o attività specifiche. Se c’è qualche attività alla quale sei particolarmente interessato, ti chiediamo di comunicarlo fin dai primi colloqui: questo potrebbe aiutarci a indirizzarti verso un tipo di programma High School Select.

    Comunque, ogni scuola offre un numero variabile di attività pomeridiane, da quelle sportive  a quelle musicali o teatrali. Vale sicuramente la pena di buttarsi e provare, tenersi occupati fin dai primi giorni, non essere timidi o troppo selettivi. E’ proprio attraverso questi momenti ricreativi che si possono fare amicizie e inserirsi nella comunità locale velocemente.
