All right, we know! When the subject “high school exchange” is being discussed, most people immediately think of going to the US. Living a year in an American family, going to an American school, feeling high school spirit and, with some luck, taking part in a high school prom. Most certainly a wonderful experience but also, well, going with the crowd. And perhaps that is not your thing?
You may be a person choosing your owns paths, selecting your own adventures and ways of life. Perhaps you also already are quite good at English, and want to get fluent in another language. If so, take a look at the 21 exchange countries we offer. Most of them are in Europe, much closer to home than the US. And most of them are possible to reach by train, reducing your environmental impact and making Greta happy.
Here are some suggestions

If French is your idea of a beautiful language, then you should consider spending your high school exchange in France, perfecting it. There are few countries people are as passionate about as Italy. Just imagine living there for a year, with Italian food, culture, football, cafés, while perfecting your Italian. Also, think of visiting famous cities like Rome, Florence, Venice, Naples. A dream that can come true. Read more about Italy
You can of course also make your English perfect in Europe, in the UK or in Ireland. Called the “Emerald Isle,” due to the vast greenery throughout the island, and with a fantastic musical heritage. Here you may also learn some Gaelic, the other national language. Céad Mile Fáilte! Read more about Ireland
Our last suggestion is a bit of a dark horse. If we say sauna, a great wildlife and a thousand lakes, you may understand we are referring to Finland. Here you find the home of Santa Claus, but also a famous education system. The Finnish language may be a challenge, though. Read more about Finland
